TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
April 18, 2012, 7:30 P.M.
Officers Present, Chairman Martin Johnson, Supervisor Ron Flegner, Supervisor John Meyerhofer, Clerk Julia Reinert and Treasurer Trina Herbst – Gutche.
Chairman Martin Johnson called the Town Board Meeting to order and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy was not present.

MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AS PRESENTED, RON FLEGNER, 2ND BY

Treasurers Report.
MOTION TO APPROVE THE TREASURERS REPORT AS PRESENTED, RON FLEGNER,
2ND BY JOHN MEYERHOFER, CARRIED.
Mowing of the Town Hall grass. Todd Nortman submitted his proposal for the mowing the town hall grass.
MOTION TO ACCEPT TODD NORTMAN’S ESTIMATE FOR MOWING THE TOWN HALL
GRASS OF $30.00 PER MOWING, MARTIN JOHNSON, 2ND BY RON FLEGNER. ROLL
CALL VOTE: MARTIN JOHNSON, AYE, JOHN MEYERHOFER, AYE, RON FLEGNER,
AYE, CARRIED.
Town Hall Plumbing Problems.
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE ESTIMATE FROM KASCADE PLUMBING TO RUN NEW
WATER LINES TO THE KITCHEN AND RESTROOMS AND CAPPING AT THE DRINKING
FOUNTAIN FOR $1,499.17, MARTAIN JOHNSON, 2ND BY RON FLEGNER. ROLL

AYE, CARRIED.
Insurance Policies. Insurance policies were examined by the town board.
MOTION TO RENEW THE WORKMANS COMP INSURANCE THROUGH THE HORTON
GROUP, MARTIN JOHNSON, 2ND BY RON FLEGNER. CALL VOTE: MARTIN JOHNSON,
AYE, JOHN MEYERHOFER, AYE, RON FLEGNER, AYE, CARRIED.
Discussion on curb side garbage pickup. The discussion on curb side garbage pickup. A price of $13.83 per month, $165.96 per year, was submitted by Dave Tellock from Veolia. This price is for this year and could change, depending on fuel charges and landfill fees, but Mr. Tellock does not anticipate a large increase. The charge would be for weekly garbage pickup and recycling pickup every other week. A questionnaire will be sent out to get the opinion of the property owners in the Town of Poygan.
Discussion on the Plowing of Private Roads. There was a lengthy discussion on the plowing of private roads. Attorney Blazel will be researching some of ideas that were discussed and Clerk, Julia Reinert will be contacting other towns to see how they handle the plowing of private roads.
Delinquent Personal Property Taxes. The two delinquent personal property tax bills were turned over to Attorney Blazel for collection.
Dogs running at large. The pictures of dogs running at large on Tritt Road and Rushford Ave. were shown to the Town Board. There also complaints that the dogs are chasing deer. Julia Reinert, Clerk has made two phone calls to the dog’s owners about keeping the dogs tied or fenced. The owners said they would be installing an underground fence to contain the dogs. The Town Board asked Attorney Blazel to also send a warning letter.
Fire department Report. There was no meeting this month.
Road Report. Discussion on missing signs, offering a reward or the use of Winnebago Counties Crime Stoppers.
Annual Road Inspection will be either the 23rd or the 30th of April. The time and date will be posted.
Building Permits. 3 permits were issued, 1 house and out building to be razed on O’Connell Resort Road, an out building and a remodel and out building.
Planning and Zoning, there was no meeting this month. Next month’s meeting will be May 10, 2012 if they have an agenda.
Questions and Comments. Clerk, Julia Reinert forgot the calendar and it was presented at this time.
The next Town Board Meeting will be changed to Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
Pay Bills.
MOTIONTO PAY BILLS PRESENTED NOW AND UP UNTIL THE NEXT
MEETING, MARTIN JOHNSON, 2ND BY RON FLEGNER, CARRIED.
